31st Zagreb Marathon: Runners in Zagreb Once Again
The Zagreb Marathon will again gather many runners who find its courses very interesting since participants run through the streets of the city, including the very centre, while being loudly cheered by the crowd.
This year, the Zagreb Marathon will take place on 8 October. The first race to take place is Garmin 10K, which starts at 08:45 in the central Ban Josip Jelačić Square and follows a course in the very city centre, to finish exactly where it started.
The start and finish line of the half marathon are also located in Ban Josip Jelačić Sqare, and the length of the race is 21 kilometres. Participants of the marathon will follow this route twice, running 42 kilometres in total. The start of these two races is at 9 o’clock. There is also an opportunity to participate in a four-member relay race, regardless of the gender of the runners, who will start racing at the same time and at the same spot as the half marathon and marathon participants.
The applications for the Zagreb Marathon are open until 29 September.
Kids’ races, which are always especially attractive and cheerful, will take place on 7 October, one day before the other races. The ages of little participants range from kindergarten age to elementary students, up to the sixth grade.
The Zagreb Marathon is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group qualifications which means it provides a chance for runners to train and prepare to participate in one of the six largest and most prestigious world marathons. The fifth edition of the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Rankings is valid from 1 January to 31 December 2023.
