Club Scene: Eventful Concert Season
Life of Zagreb’s club scene has become more intense so number of musicians visiting the city is growing. Their performances guarantee a good time.
A number of concerts of famous musicians take place in Zagreb every year. Here is a selection of events taken from a long list of scheduled concerts.
Bruce Dickinson, the frontman of heavy metal band Iron Maiden is about to give a concert on 24 March. Together with Jon Lord's Concerto for Group and Orchestra, he will perform pieces of Deep Purple in the Dražen Petrović Hall.
Cult Slovenian band Laibach will perform at the Culture Factory on 14 April. The concert in Zagreb entitled “Love is Still Alive” will be held as part of a big European tour which includes Scandinavia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany and Austria.
On 13 April, one of the world’s most renowned guitarists Steve Vai will hold a concert in the same club, as part of the tour “Inviolate”. His tour follows the release of the album with the same title. It is interesting to note that Steve Vai, who is a famous innovator and producer, invented a new type of guitar for this album with three necks and a new way of playing. This famous musician has sold 15 million copies of the album and won three Grammys.
BSH Zagreb Sunset Session will start on 15 April at the stadium of the Šalata Sports and Recreation Centre. The event’s success is based on excellent music, dancing and entertainment, along with the view of unforgettable sunsets.
On 10 May, punk rock band The Exploited will give a concert in the Boogaloo Night Club. They are visiting Zagreb on their tour entitled “Disorder Tour 2023”. Croatian punk band Nula from Šibenik will join them on stage as special guests.
One of the most influential and loudest bands of American indie scene, The Melvins, will perform in the Culture Factory on 14 June. They too will hold a concert in Zagreb as part of their European tour to promote last year’s 25th studio album “Bad Mood Rising”. It marks 40 years since their foundation.
On 23 June, British band Foals will put on a show at Šalata stadium. These famous rockers who are performing in Zagreb for the first time, released their seventh studio album “Life is Yours” in the middle of last year.
Seven years after their last visit to Zagreb, Swedish performers of Viking heavy metal music, Amon Amarth, will give a concert at Šalata stadium on 4 July this year. Famous for a unique sound and theatrical shows, they will certainly draw a lot of attention of numerous fans of their sound.
