Hotels: The Range Is Widening
Four new hotels have been added this year to the range of hotels in Zagreb. Business people or tourists alike; all will find hotels offering many activities and a recognisable story.
In recent years, Zagreb has emerged as an attractive business and tourism destination. The driving force behind this was the accession of Croatia in the European Union ten years ago as well as the fact it became a part of the Schengen area and eurozone at the beginning of the year. Of course, tourism offer in the city grew intensely along the way, including the range of accommodation units. In one year, four hotels were added to the accommodation offer in Zagreb, two of which have undergone thorough renovation, have received new facilities and names while the remaining two are brand new.
The former Holiday hotel has received a 15-million-euro investment and become the Grand Hotel Zagreb in spring 2023. It is now recognisable for a rich wellness and spa as well as congress-related offer.
The Zonar Zagreb Hotel is the new name of the former Panorama hotel whose appearance changed due to a thorough reconstruction. It has also received a new gastro offer and a rooftop pool with a panoramic view of the city.
In July, The Met Boutique Hotel, whose decoration stresses art, aesthetics and innovative designer elements, was opened in the very heart of the city. The opening of the spa centre is expected to follow soon.
In October, the first visitors will enter art'otel Zagreb, the first in Croatia and the fifth in Europe so far (two more are about to open) of the art’otel brand which belongs to the hotel chain Park Plaza. These are hotels which share an exceptional architectural style and art-inspired interiors. The symbol of each art’otel is a signature artist and in the hotel in Zagreb it is Boris Bućan, one of the most famous Croatian visual artists. His work will mark the interior of the new hotel. The hotel is located in a historical building in the very city centre, and in addition to the recognisable gastro offer it also boasts wellness and spa and conference rooms.
