59th Edition of Floraart: Flowers Everywhere
Bundek Park in Zagreb is again about to turn into a large exhibition of flowers but also into a meeting place for all those who see flowers, floral arrangements and landscaping as their job, love and hobby.
The International Garden Show Floraart has been taking place in Zagreb for almost six decades. It brings floral arrangements, colours, scents and new energy to one of the most beautiful green oases of the city, Bundek Park, located on the bank of the Sava River.
This is where it will also take place from 8 to 11 May this year. At an area of more than 300.000 square metres, more than a hundred exhibitors will present new trends in landscaping and demonstrate new ideas and solutions in gardens and green areas design, novelties in plant production and garden machinery. Floral arrangements and trends in their design as well as a rich promotional sale of seedlings garner a lot of attention every year.
Even after they leave the area of Bundek, visitors of Floraart will be easy to spot because of numerous plants they will be carrying home to decorate their yards, balconies and residential area. Citizens will receive a special invitation again this year to enter the competition for the most beautiful garden.
In addition to the promotional sales of plants, during the four days of this year’s Floraart, interesting lectures and workshops and traditional competitions will also take place. On the first day of the fair, 8 May, the Croatian Florists’ Cup will take place. Competitors from Croatia and abroad will demonstrate their skill at arranging table tops, creating head decorations and interpretive arrangements and provide their solution to the surprise theme that will be announced on the day of the competition. A traditional competition of high school students in arranging flowers is scheduled to take place on the second day of the fair. An international jury will evaluate arrangements at both competitions and the best in every category will receive special awards.
