28th Cest is d Best: Marked by Laughter and Special Encounters
Soon once again, the same as during almost three decades, life in Zagreb will be marked by the street festival Cest is d Best. This is a time when a walk in the city brings joy, laughter and unexpected encounters.
The 28th edition of the street festival Cest is d Best will take place from 30 May to 2 June in Zagreb. In squares, streets and parks of Zagreb as many as 500 artists from Croatia and around fifteen other countries will bring joy to passersby with their skills, whether it is in visual arts, music, dance or acting, but also juggling and in all other types of artistic expression.
What they all have in common is joy shared with citizens, which is the reason why both citizens and visitors have lived with this manifestation for almost three decades. On this occasion, special competitions will take place such as the slowest bike ride race, a race of dustmen in their tricycles and dog and owners’ race. Throughout the day, on stages and pavements in the very city centre there will be the fever of Zagreb, dance parties, concerts, pavement drawing and many other creative activities. Visitors will also have a chance to see the international exhibition of flags, exhibition of the best photos of previous editions, simultaneous games of chess and many other events which bring joy to participants and spectators.
The fact that this year Cest is the Best lasts for four days, a day longer than before, is a proof of popularity of this street festival, which erases the gap between performers and audience with face-to-face encounters.
