Beans with white sour beets and sausages

Ingredients for 6 people:

1                                  onion
4 cloves                      garlic
3                                  bay leaves
2 l                                vegetable stock
400 g                          meat sausages
300 g                           white sour beets
500 g                          canned brown beans
50 g                            lard
salt

Preparation:

Pierce the meat sausages lightly with a fork so that they do not burst during cooking.

Put the lard (or sunflower oil) in a saucepan, add the chopped onion, lightly salt, and steam until soft.

Then add the crushed garlic and as soon as it starts to smell, add the drained beets and mix.

Then add the drained canned beans, bay leaves and the meat sausages and pour in enough vegetable stock until the ingredients are covered.

Cook everything together over low heat for about 30 minutes.

Serving:

Arrange the stew in deep plates, cut the meat sausages into rings and arrange on the plates.
