Maksim Mrvica and the Zagreb Philharmonic in Concert
On November 13th the globally-renowned Croatian virtuoso pianist, Maksim Mrvica, will perform at the renovated Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall. The virtuoso, who successfully combines classical and pop music, is known as one of the best crossover musicians, and his performance with the Zagreb Philharmonic is surely going to be a treat.
The globally renowned virtuoso pianist, Maksim Mrvica, will perform with backing support from the Zagreb Philharmonic at the renovated Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall on November 13th.
Mrvica, a native of Šibenik, has gained his reputation by performing classical music in crossover interpretations. He has become a true virtuoso who successfully combines classical and pop music. By skilfully mixing modern sounds with classical tones, including aspects of rock and electronic music, Maksim Mrvica has gained global popularity. Thus far, he has released five albums; “Geste” (“Gestures”); “The Piano Player”, which propelled him to the summit of the global music scene; “Variations Part 1 and 2”; “A New World”; “Electrik”; and, the latest one, “Pure”.
The latest two albums are entirely different from each other; the album “Electrik” is comprised almost solely of electronic music and contains an especially interesting composition by Johann Sebastian Bach, “A Prelude in C-minor”. Unlike “Electrik”, the album “Pure” contains almost pure piano sounds.
Throughout his lengthy and successful career he has sold over a million albums and, aged only thirty-four, he has already become very popular in Asia, where his concerts are regularly sold-out. The Zagreb concert was narrowly squeezed into his busy schedule as he is currently on tour in Japan, China, and Singapore.
