A hotel ice-skating rink in the heart of the city

The “Nice Ice” ice-skating rink has been opened at the famous Oleander terrace of The Regent Esplanade Zagreb hotel. Although the ice rink does not cover a large surface, it is located at a very attractive location in the heart of the city; a location that is dear to many generations of Zagreb’s citizens. The Esplanade hotel is one of the oldest and most prestigious hotels in Zagreb. It was built in 1925 to provide accommodation for wealthy passengers who arrived in Zagreb aboard the legendary train, the Orient Express, which connected Paris to Istanbul. Considering its long tradition and excellent reputation, this prestigious hotel has been host to many dignitaries from all over the world and, as such, it has played a significant role in Zagreb’s social life. It is upon these exalted foundations that this ice rink has been constructed, with a purpose of bringing the spirit of old Zagreb back to life and allowing visitors to enjoy the Oleander terrace in the same manner as generations past.
