Zaz visits Zagreb
The June calendar of music treats will be complemented by the talented French singer and songwriter, ZAZ, who has gained numerous fans in Croatia with her namesake debut album. The concert will take place in Boćarski dom.
On June 3rd, Boćarski Dom will be the venue for a concert by French singer and songwriter, Zaz, who has gained popularity with her hit “Je Veux”. Her real name is Isabelle Geffroy, and she became the new star of the French music scene with her debut album “Zaz”. The album also reached the top of the charts as the best sold foreign album in Croatia, and she has recently also released a live album, “Sans Tsu Tsou”, from her world tour, in which she gained numerous fans.
Her music is a mix of jazz, chanson, and gypsy swing, and due to her specific voice she has been dubbed the new Edith Piaf in France. She started violin, piano, guitar and singing lessons at the age of five, and started making music professionally in 2001, when she was performing with the blues band Fifty Fingers. She has also collaborated with other bands, and for two years she was one of four singers with a sixteen member band Izar-Adatz. She is a very talented young musician, who will be performing in front of a Zagreb audience for the first time.
