Zagreb Guitar Festival: Top World Guitarists Are on Their Way
From 31 March to 6 April, Zagreb will be the perfect destination for all guitar lovers but also for admirers of some of the world’s greatest artists who play the instrument.
Zagreb Guitar Festival, to be held from 31 March to 6 April, will gather the world’s leading guitarists of various 
genres. Evening concerts entitled “All Stars concerts” of various music genres will take place on several locations in Zagreb, in the Mimara Museum and the Westin Zagreb.
The festival will welcome the world’s leading guitarists. A favorite of the Zagreb audience, world-renowned jazz guitarist Stochelo Rosenberg is to perform on the first night with a jazz guitarist but also a multitalented artist Mate Matišić. For the first time in Europe the most famous Brazilian guitarist Yamane Coste will also perform in the Crystal ballroom of the Westin.
One of the world’s leading flamenco guitarists Antonio Rey will perform in the Crystal ballroom of the Westin Zagreb with his trio, so there will be an opportunity to enjoy both vocal interpretation and dance as well as guitar sounds. Visitors of Zagreb Guitar Festival will have a chance to hear an attractive guitar duo Bandini & Chiacchiaretta, which will perform the world’s most famous tangos for guitar and accordion.
As a part of the evenings of classical music the most famous guitar duo in the world Sergio & Odair Assad will perform for the first time in Zagreb, as well as a world famous guitarist Aniello Desiderio accompanied by EuroStrings guitar orchestra.
The afternoon concerts are the time for Eurostring Artists – young winners of guitar competitions gathered in the EuroStrings project, the first European platform in the sector of classical music whose founder and leading partner is the Bonar Music School, which is also the organizer of the festival.
EuroStrings gathers 17 European festivals of classical music, and the main aim of the platform is to promote emerging classical guitarists and winners of international competitions. As a part of the festival, a EuroStrings conference will be held from 4 to 6 April in the Mimara Museum, attended by prestigious guests from the cultural sector arriving from the entire world.
During the festival, a guitar exhibition will be held with exhibitors coming from seven European countries. A Croatian guitar collector, Hrvoje Grgić, holder of MA in musicology, will display his guitars and hold a lecture and guitar presentation together with David Colletta of the Guitar Salon International from Los Angeles.
